As a committed group of medical, spiritual, and community leaders, it is our vision and desire to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of the Oromia rural area of Ethiopia, East Africa. Aware we have the direct decree from the Lord to serve “the least of these” we will work together to coordinate community resources to provide critical healthcare to this rural population in compassionate, ethical, and professional manner following the example of Jesus

Update- April 2022
ORHI Medical Director Nikki Jackson visited Medical Bridges in Houston, Texas to begin the process of procuring donated equipment to ship to the new hospital. The list of items Nikki provided should be ready for shipment in early June. The shipment will be approximately 7 tons of equipment with an estimated worth of $5-10 million dollars. The pallets will be loaded into a 40-foot shipping container and loaded to a cargo ship in Houston. The shipment will take approximately 90 days, arriving in early September. Ambo University Referral Hospital will help cover the costs of shipping and transportation to the hospital. If needed, Medical Bridges can provide consultants to travel to the hospital to help install electronic equipment and provide training.
Update July 2022:
Due to civil unrest and economic instability, we have had to postpone the shipment until a future date. While this is most disappointing to everyone involved, the risk of losing the shipment was too high at the present time.
We will post an update soon with some alternative initiatives we are working on.
